John Meyers founded Meyers Global to create a more expansive platform for his consulting and advisory work in international development and impact finance. Active in multiple geographies, he is leading the firm’s advisory on Blended Finance for Blue Economy initiative in the Caribbean and results-based financing initiatives in the Middle East and North Africa.
In the first Trump Administration, John served as Team Lead – Private Sector, under USAID PSE Support, an institutional support contract providing guidance and technical inputs to the implementation of its PSE Policy.
His recent consulting engagements include contributing to the development of $100M de-risking guarantee facility for a private sector solar company specializing in last-mile electrification in sub-Saharan Africa. He has supported partnership engagement in Uganda to expand health service delivery, led impact design for WASH, and served as technical lead in the design of a Climate Gender Equity Fund and has extensive AgFinance experience.
From 2021-2023, he served as Director, Innovation and Organizational Learning for Panagora Group, a woman-owned small business, where he oversaw PSE, Knowledge Management and Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) activities. Until recent events, he served as Senior Advisor, Private Sector Engagement and Impact Finance, for the USAID’s Uganda Health Activity and Private Sector Engagement and Funds Mobilization Specialist for the Papua New Guinea Electrification Partnership (USAID-PEP). In 2024, with Keylime, he also co-authored a white paper on Replicability and Scalability of Development Impact Bonds: A Case Study of The Refugee Impact Bond under the Innovative Finance Services Project (implemented by Chemonics).
John is Past President, Board of Directors, NYC-based Impact Capital Forum, among the largest individual global networks in the impact finance sector. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Community Foundation for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (Executive Committee), and on the Advisory Board, Impact Hub of New York.
A sought-after speaker, John has spoken on a wide range of subjects, including sessions on Philanthropy (Opal/Family Office and Private Wealth Management Forum), Supply Chain Assurance (Sustainable Investment Leadership Conference); Financing Smallholders (Opportunity Collaboration); Innovative Finance (Concordia Annual Summit). And the UN High Level Political Forum and UN Commission on Social Development Side Events on impact investing and supply chains.
John received his B.A. in International Relations from The American University of Paris; MLS from Rutgers University School of Communication & Information; and M.A. in History from Columbia University.
